Caravaning 2025 ends with spotlight on family tourism and young visitors

The 37th edition of the International Caravanning Show concludes this afternoon after nine days of intense activity and a participation that has exceeded 60,000 visitors. A mostly family audience interested in motorhomes and new users attracted by camper vans to enjoy experiential and nature tourism. The event thus consolidates its position as a leader in Spain and a European benchmark in a sector that has an increasing number of fans.

The show, organised by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Spanish Association of the Caravanning Industry and Commerce (ASEICAR) and the Gremi d’Empresaris del Caravaning de Catalunya (GREMCAR), brought together 180 companies and more than 700 models from leading brands at the Gran Via venue, making it the event with the largest offer in the country.

According to a survey carried out during the fair, more than 70% of the attendees have expressed a high interest in buying, which confirms the show as a key event for the dynamization of sales in the sector. The survey also indicates that among the most successful models of the edition are compact and integrated vehicles. Thus, 75% of those who are considering buying a new vehicle opt for motorhomes and campers, while 25% maintain their preference for the classic caravan.

José Manuel Jurado, president of ASEICAR and co-president of the Organizing Committee, stressed that “this edition has confirmed the strength and maturity of the sector, not only because of the excellent response of the public, but also because of the business dynamism it has shown. Caravaning has ratified its role as a strategic platform for the sector”.

For her part, Susana Colom, president of GREMCAR and also co-president of the Committee, pointed out that “the event has reflected how this way of travelling is gaining strength among the new generations, consolidating the show as a meeting point for those looking for vehicles, accessories, novelties and sharing experiences with other enthusiasts”.

Success of orientation spaces

Nearly 50% of the attendees have shown special interest in the areas of the show dedicated to guidance and learning. Spaces such as Travelvaning have brought together a large number of visitors in their talks on the transformation of conventional vehicles into campers and the new trends in itinerant tourism.

The advisory area has also registered a notable influx of public, especially among those who are starting out in the world of caravanning. Many were looking for guidance on which type of vehicle best suits their needs, the advantages of renting or buying, and the technical features best suited to their way of travelling.

The most experienced users, on the other hand, have been interested in the regulations related to traffic, overnight stays or camping, as well as in technological innovations – from home automation systems to solar panels and other accessories that optimise the consumption of resources – and in good practices that promote safe, sustainable and responsible travel.

The next edition will be held from 16 to 24 October 2027 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
